Sikhs on Horseback Ride Hwy 427 in Malton Nagar Kirtan – Laws Ignored?

A group of Sikh participants on horseback, carrying spears, took to Highway 427 near the 407 ETR during the Malton Nagar Kirtan 2026 for Khalsa Day. Despite being clearly illegal and dangerous under Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act, no enforcement occurred. Another case of selective rules for cultural events?

Wow, Ontario's Highway Traffic Act must have a secret 'Religious Exception' clause nobody told the rest of us about.

Group of guys on horseback with spears cruising down Hwy 427 like it's the Wild West during rush hour? Totally fine, it's a 'cultural procession'!

But try riding a bicycle without a bell or jaywalking while wearing the wrong skin color and watch how fast the tickets fly.

Public officials aren't 'closing their eyes' — they're just really, really focused on not being called racist. Safety, laws, and taxpayers stuck in traffic? Secondary priorities, apparently.

Equality under the law is beautiful... when it's convenient.
